The Aspen School District is seeking a full-time Project Coordinator for Elevating Prevention In Colorado (EPIC).

Classification: Classified, Full-time, Exempt

Contract Period: 233 days yearly / Grant-funded for a duration of 5 years

Compensation: $75,000 annual salary

Purpose and Overview:

The Project Coordinator serves as a key staff member responsible for assisting with the managing the work of the Aspen-Pitkin Healthy Futures Coalition under the EPIC Grant. Modeled after the successful framework of the Drug-Free Communities (DFC) program, this position ensures that coalition activities are strategic, data-informed, and sustainable.

The PC will coordinate communication among partners, manage program activities and reporting, and support the ongoing engagement of youth and community stakeholders. Through this role, the PC will help build community capacity, strengthen partnerships, and guide the implementation of evidence-based prevention strategies that address local behavioral health priorities. This position is grant-funded for a duration of 5 yeears.

 

Position Summary:

 

The Project Coordinator (PC) will assist with  managing the day-to-day operations of the Aspen-Pitkin Healthy Futures Coalition, supporting the implementation of community-based prevention strategies funded through the Elevating Prevention in Colorado (EPIC) grant. The PC will coordinate coalition meetings and communications, facilitate youth and community engagement, oversee data collection and reporting, and ensure the effective dissemination of information. This role is essential to advancing the coalition’s mission of preventing youth substance misuse and promoting behavioral health and wellness throughout Aspen and Pitkin County.

Responsibilities:

1. Coalition Coordination and Management

• Assist with organizing and facilitating Healthy Futures Coalition meetings, workgroups, and community engagement events.
• Maintain consistent communication among coalition members, youth advocates, and partner agencies.
• Support coalition leadership in implementing the Healthy Futures strategic and action plans aligned with EPIC goals.
• Foster partnerships across multiple sectors, including education, health, law enforcement, local government, and youth-serving organizations.
• Promote inclusive participation and elevate youth voice in prevention planning and advocacy efforts.

2. Program Implementation and Oversight

• Coordinate and manage all EPIC-funded prevention activities in Aspen and Pitkin County.
• Ensure alignment of strategies with evidence-based frameworks and community-identified needs.
• Integrate EPIC strategies with existing local prevention initiatives such as the Drug-Free Communities program and school-based wellness efforts.
• Track and monitor timelines, deliverables, and performance measures to ensure compliance with EPIC grant requirements.

3. Training and Capacity Building

• Identify training and professional development needs for coalition members and partners.
• Coordinate or deliver workshops on prevention best practices, data utilization, and sustainability planning.
• Support youth advocate development through leadership, presentation, and civic engagement opportunities.

4. Data Collection, Evaluation, and Reporting

• Coordinate local data collection, including Healthy Kids Colorado Survey data and community assessment results.
• Collaborate with evaluators to analyze trends and assess program outcomes.
• Prepare and disseminate quarterly and annual progress reports for coalition members, funders, and community partners.
• Promote data-driven decision-making by sharing findings in accessible and actionable formats.

5. Communication and Information Dissemination

• Develop and manage coalition communication tools, including newsletters, social media, and outreach materials.
• Share updates, outcomes, and success stories with partners and the community.
• Represent the coalition at public events, community meetings, and prevention conferences.
• Increase community awareness of prevention resources, youth activities, and behavioral health supports.

6. Administrative and Grant Management Support

• Maintain organized documentation of all coalition and EPIC-related activities.
• Support compliance with grant reporting, fiscal tracking, and performance documentation requirements.
• Coordinate with fiscal agents and the Coalition Director to ensure accurate recordkeeping and efficient use of resources.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree, or a combination of relevant education, training, and
experience.
