The Aspen School District seeks a Long-Term 2nd Grade Substitute Teacher for the Aspen Middle School starting January 6th - June 5th
Position Title: Long-term 2nd Grade Substitute Teacher
Department: Aspen Elementary School
Reports to: Aspen Elementary School Principal
Classification: Certified Full-time Non-Exempt
Contract Period: 1/6/2025-6/5/2025
Compensation: $270 per day

I: Position Summary
- This position will support all students in learning relevant and engaging content. This teacher will create a supportive, positive class environment, establishing the rapport with students to develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge needed as a solid foundation for their education.
II: Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Supervise teacher's normal out-of-classroom activities as assigned by Principal.
- Evaluate student progress and growth in knowledge and skills.
- Maintain various student records as required by teaching assignment, maintaining confidentiality.
- Assume all regular teacher responsibilities when serving as a long-term substitute.
- Adhere to district policies and directives, and instructions contained in the Substitute Teacher Guidelines.
III: Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Demonstrate responsibility and consistency of attendance required for work with students
- Work with efficiency with attention to detail
- Demonstrate flexibility for environment that may require change of schedule and/or student activities
- Maintain confidentiality of information
- Work cooperatively with administrators and staff
- Observe all district policies and procedures
- Observe all general safety rules, carefully observing correct lifting procedures
IV: Minimum Qualifications
- Must hold a current, valid Colorado Department of Education substitute teacher's license or other applicable teaching license
- Must maintain the confidentiality of all student’s educational records and information that you generate or to which you are given access as a substitute teacher.
V: Work Environment
- Office environment; exposure to computer screens
- Mostly clean and comfortable surroundings
VI: Essential Physical Requirements
- Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs., bending, squatting, standing, reaching, sitting, walking, and stooping, occasional climbing, and repetitive motion
