The Aspen School District seeks a School Psychologist for the 2024-2025 school year.
Position Title: School Psychologist
Department: Student Services
Reports to: Director of Student Services
Classification: Certified Full-time Exempt
Contract Period: 9 Months (185 days with some variance depending on the year)
Compensation: See Salary Schedule Here: SSP Salary Schedule, Additional $5000 annually with National Board Certification

Position Summary: The purpose of this position is to facilitate learning and promote the cognitive, social, and personal development of all students through consultation and direct counseling services, program development and evaluation, specific assessments, and collaboration with various school teams. Small caseload numbers on one campus with zero to little commute time. You would be joining one other school psychologist, a BCBA, social worker and several other mental health staff.
Principle Responsibilities:
Assessment and Interpretation
Lead the Functional Behavior Assessment process in assigned buildings
Lead the threat assessment process in assigned buildings
Uses assessment data about students in their environment(s) in developing appropriate programs
Administer, score, and interpret necessary assessments (broad and focused) to assist in determining disabling conditions, and/or tiered programming for students according to State and Federal Regulations and according to Aspen School District policies and procedures
Program Development
Provide leadership for the Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) process and support in assigned buildings; participate in school district MTSS teams and assist with the facilitation and documentation of evidence-based methods for academic and behavioral support
Direct Intervention for Students
Provide direct mental health counseling services to targeted individual students and student groups to support the teaching process and maximize learning and adjustment
Consultation and Training
Provide consultation to parents, teachers, other school personnel, and community agencies to enhance student learning and achievement.
Assist Individual Education Program (IEP) teams with the development and implementation of programs to meet identified learning and adjustment needs
Communication and Relationship Skills
Write behavior plans in conjunction with other pertinent team members (e.g., education staff and parents) and assist with behavior interventions when deemed appropriate
Serve as a resource for general and special education staff to promote and implement academic and behavioral supports
Communicate effectively sharing pertinent evaluation/observation information with parents, students, and agencies as appropriate
Position Requirements:
Minimum Education: Masters Degree
Licenses or certifications:
Current Colorado Professional Special Services License with an endorsement as a School Psychologist for ages 0-21.
Minimum Experience: No experience necessary
Essential Environmental Demands: Mostly clean and comfortable. May be exposed to body fluids.
Essential Physical Requirements:
- Occasional Heavy lifting; management and de-escalation of students with aggressive behavior.

Skill Requirements:
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office
- Ability to communicate well in English, both speaking and writing (Bilingual Spanish preferable)

- Understanding of the IEP process
- Experience with special populations
- Knowledge of MTSS process
- Knowledge of progress monitoring tools and techniques
- Demonstrated ability to administer and interpret cognitive, academic and social/emotional diagnostic evaluations
- Demonstrated ability to provide evaluation results clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing
